Meet Sara
With over 20 years of experience in the recreation field and working with healthcare and social services agencies, including 8 years served as Hayward City Council member and another 8 years on various commissions and task forces, Sara Lamnin provides vital support to The 5ive Pillars Organization.
Sara was first elected to the City of Hayward City Council in June 2014, re-elected in November 2018, and in 2021 was voted Mayor Pro-Tempore by her City Councilmember colleagues. Sara earned her BA in Recreation and Leisure Studies, with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation from San Francisco State University before earning her MS in Healthcare Administration from California State University, East Bay.
Her professional experience includes directing and managing programs at Hayward Community Action Network, the Lincoln Child Center, San Ramon Rehabilitation Hospital, and the Parkview Health Care Center. She's also held several positions on commissions and committees, including the Hayward Planning Commission and the Hayward Sustainability Committee.
Sara's current focus on the Hayward City Council is homelessness and hunger. She serves as Chair of the Task Force to End Hunger and Homeless in Hayward, a position she's held since 2013.
