Supporting Afghan Newcomers across
Northern California
The 5ive Pillars Organization is 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that operates by an entirely volunteer-driven board and support team. All our team members dedicate their time outside of regular full-time work and extra-curricular commitments to the cause of resettling newcomer migrants in their local communities, including the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento Valley and Central Valley. Most of our team members have migration and refugee stories themselves, offering a unique and humane approach towards aiding the resettlement of refugees, asylum-seekers and other migrants.
Our work is impossible without the support of volunteers, donors, local and state grants, as well as vital partnerships with likeminded organizations and groups that all work towards providing direct aid to newly arrived migrants. As the start of the August 2021 Afghanistan crisis, we sprung into action by providing immediate essentials to newcomers, including clothing, personal protective equipment, backpacks, school supplies, home furnishings, diapers and toiletries. With the COVID-19 emergency over, The 5ive Pillars Organization entered a new phase by providing newcomers with support for their integration in keeping with our values of providing the most dignifying support as possible.
In its new phase, The 5ive Pillars Organization has implemented several key programs, such as the Connecting Newcomers Program that provides newcomers with free Chromebooks and devices, the Afghan Youth and Family Engagement Support Program that offers free tutoring to K-12 students in Hayward, and ongoing donation drives that provide items to newcomer families across Northern California.
This work is impossible without the support of individuals who are passionate about refugee resettlement and keeping our promise to Afghan allies who sacrificed for their families. Each dollar of your support goes towards supporting future programs that provides direct aid to newcomer families in Northern California, including the Bay Area and Sacramento/Central Valley. Rest assured that per our mission, all our support goes to local newcomers who face challenges in resettlement. As we know, the San Francisco Bay Area and greater Northern California region grows increasingly unaffordable for families - these challenges are front and center in the development of our programming support. Your donation will go a long way for newcomer families in need. Thank you!
