About Us

The 5ive Pillars Organization is an Afghan-American led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that aids in the resettlement of newcomer migrants in Northern California.

Sparking out the Afghan evacuation crisis in 2021, our organization started by providing immediate emergency response to Afghan newcomers in the San Francisco Bay Area's East Bay region.

In conjunction with California state agencies, resettlement organizations, city and county partners, as well as community-based organizations, we provide vital case management support and rapid response aid to resettled families, especially to those who fled Afghanistan in 2021.

We also engage Afghan newcomer families through inclusive digital outreach in English, Farsi and Pashto to better communicate state services and public health/safety messaging to the newcomer community.

In 2023, The 5ive Pillars Organization received vital funding support form the State of California to offer support and tutoring services to Afghan Youth and their families who reside within the Hayward Unified School District. Learn more about this program.

We also offer programs on mental health wellness and digital connectivity for migrant newcomers of Afghan descent, particularly for those who resettled in the U.S. after August 2021.

The 5ive Pillars Organization first operated out of the Matt Jimenez Community Center in Hayward. The center is temporarily closed for renovations, however our collection drives for donations is virtual and ongoing to support newcomer families in the Bay Area and Sacramento.
