Donations Program
The 5ive Pillars Organization relies on the generosity of donors across our region.
Donations are coordinated, tracked, and assessed to meet the needs of newcomer families who are housed in temporary hotels, apartments, or on US military bases pending resettlement. Among donations received are:

Clothes for men, women, and children

Children's items (school supplies, toys, books)

Newborn items (strollers, car seats, formula)

Electronics (laptops, earphones)
Volunteer Program
The 5ive Pillars Organization's most vital operations are run by volunteers across Northern California who are culturally sensitive and knowledgeable of multiple languages, including Farsi/Dari and Pashto.
Our volunteers support the following areas:

Receiving and tracking donations

Delivering donations directly to refugee and newcomer families

Scheduling healthcare appointments

Assisting families with government agencies, such as USCIS, Social Security, and Health and Human Services agencies

Coordinating transportation for newcomers' appointments

Providing translation and interpretation support

Orienting newcomers on public transportation

Assisting newcomers in finding housing

Resettlement Program
The 5ive Pillars Organization works with refugee resettlement agencies, community based organizations, and government agencies to provide resettlement support to newcomers and their families across Northern California.
Our resettlement support areas include:

Providing immediate essentials to refugee, migrant, and other newcomer families.

Assisting families with school enrollment, ESL, and other education needs.

Coordinating household donations for newcomer family units.

Connecting newcomers to critical health, housing, and other support services.

Collaborating on community events, including resource fairs, cultural celebrations, and other social gatherings.

The Newcomer Spotlight Series is a monthly video series that highlights real stories of recently resettled Afghan newcomers in the San Francisco Bay Area.
