Mourning the Loss of Supervisor Richard Valle

It is with heavy hearts that The 5ive Pillars Organization mourns the passing of our friend and one of our greatest supporters, Alameda County Supervisor Richard Valle.

We send our deepest condolences to his wife Barbara, children, grandchildren, staff and all his loved ones.

Supervisor Valle was one of The 5ive Pillars Organization’s first and most dedicated supporters to the cause of Afghan resettlement in the Bay Area. His generosity drove a donation of $25,000 that went directly to resettled Afghan refugees in the form of mini grants to help offset the costs of high rents, utilities and education.

Over the course of his 10+ years in service, Supervisor Valle fought to bring vital resources to his community, including mental health programs, youth support services and advancements in refugee resettlement support.

Supervisor Valle represented District 2 in Alameda County, which includes Hayward, Union City, Newark and parts of Fremont.
