We are excited to announce that the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution in support of the Afghan Adjustment Act and called for Congress to immediately pass the bill. The Resolution Requesting The United States Congress to Pass The Afghan Adjustment Act was championed by Supervisor Patrick Kennedy of District 2, and passed with overwhelming support of 5-0.
We are thrilled to see the region’s continued steadfast leadership as Sacramento has become home to one of the largest concentrations of Afghan newcomers in recent years.
A bipartisan group of Senators and House Representatives reintroduced the Afghan Adjustment Act in August 2022. This legislation would secure a permanent pathway for the nearly 70,000 Afghan allies evacuated in the summer of August 2021.
